Community Guidelines

Recca recognizes how immensely different the experiences, perspectives, and tastes of our Internet neighbors can be. Some people may love things that you hate, and vice versa. And both parties can have completely valid reasons for feeling that way.

Rather than forming gated Internet communities that draw lines and drive division, Recca wants to confront and celebrate our differences in a respectful way, which may help us discover that we have more in common than we previously thought. To that end, we've developed some ground rules to keep Recca a welcoming community where everyone can hopefully find something for themselves.

They are as follows, and in no particular order:

Contribute to our collective knowledge

Recca is defined by the contributions of our community. Please use your recommendations as an opportunity to share useful information and personal insights. You have the power to turn someone onto their next favorite thing!

Be honest and be yourself

Only recommend things that you personally feel strongly about. We'll take every effort to avoid inauthentic recommendations for any reason. Don't pretend to be someone else, and don't be dishonest with your reccs.

Respect others' tastes and sensibilities

Recca is all about letting people express their honest preferences, so we hope you'll make it a space where others feel free to be themselves.

If you see something that another user might appreciate being censored, help us by reporting the content. We can apply a "Not Safe for Work" (NSFW) tag to recommendations, or in extreme cases, redact a user's comment.

Follow the law

While you use Recca, you're still subject to the laws of whatever jurisdiction in which you reside. Avoid posting illegal content or soliciting or facilitating illegal or prohibited behavior or transactions.

Don't be an asshole

Don't encourage hatred or harm. Respect others' opinions and tastes. Don't harass or spam. Ain't nobody got time for that.
